The Writing Center at Saint Francis University offers one-to-one consultations for students seeking assistance with various writing assignments. Our tutoring staff is trained to work with students on any aspect of their writing, including (but not limited to) getting started on a paper, developing a draft, citing sources, and proofreading for errors. Our services are free to all SFU students.  


Spring 2022: Face-to-Face Tutoring at the Library & Learning Commons (2nd Floor)

The writing center tutors are offering face-to-face services at the center's designated location, the second floor of the Library & Learning Commons building. 


Our face-to-face operating hours this fall are listed below:

  • Monday - 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday - 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday - 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday - 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Friday - 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

To accommodate those students who live far from campus or prefer to work online, the writing center staff will continue providing online tutoring services this spring via appointment.

To access our tutoring portal, go to the Writing Center page at and click Knock on Door on any of the available writing tutors. Then log in with any of the options available. 



During your session with your tutor, you will be able to talk with the tutor and share your paper.  You will also be able to edit your paper while you and the tutor are working together.
