Committee Meetings
The Co-Chairs of the IRB will meet as needed to conduct administrative functions, initial review of applications and continuation reviews. Full committee meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Therefore, if your study application requires a Full Board Review, all materials must be submitted at least one week before the next meeting (2nd Thursday of each month) to be considered for review at that meeting. Review and determination of an IRB application under Exempt or Expedited Review will be conducted within 2 weeks of submission. Full Board Review will be done at each regularly scheduled meeting.
The Co-chairs of the IRB meets as needed through the summer months (June, July and August) to handle administrative matters.
All applicants must electronically submit the original IRB application, any relevant informed consent documents and additional materials (such as questionnaires, approval letter, etc.), and verification of ethics training. All applications will undergo a preliminary administrative review to determine if the application is complete and meets the basic requirements for compliance with IRB policies and procedures. Any application that is out of compliance will be returned without being reviewed.
